August 2010
Road Runner Racing has been hard at work after the June competition. We have completed two printed Road Runner Racing ECU's and populated them. Meanwhile our car has been tested for CG, and in two weeks will be structurally tested by twisting the chassis. Over the past two weeks modifications to the gas tank and muffler were completed and our cars interchangeability with the 560cc and 450cc motors is now complete. Installation of the 450 was vital for testing as our race motor undergoes maintenance for next season. Our designers have also been hard at work designing our new chassis, this process was aided by a driver position and comfort test as all members of our racing team took part in the test. Seating, leg, and steering position were all tested, this data was crucial for the design of the new chassis as the car is more of an endurance car where in the chassis must fit not only the FSAE Cockpit and Foot box Template but a variety of sizes of people.
Road Runner Racing is excited to announce that Monday August 23rd in the Engineering Building 2nd floor We will be Presenting our self's as well as both of our race cars to the incoming engineering student body. Any Student no matter what department of study is welcome and we will be happy to Answer any Questions and any other inquiry's about SAE.
